Barbara Meyers Author Newsletter January 2018

Barbara Meyers Author Newsletter January 2018

If I were to make a New Year’s resolution, it would be to get out of my own way. I want to do a newsletter for all 29 subscribers. I have a Mail Chimp account. I’ve tried to create a newsletter there, but I just don’t get it. I end up frustrated and disappointed and those few loyal followers get nothing.

January’s basket of goodies giveaway

A writer friend to whom I will forever be grateful suggested doing it on my blog. The blog, at least, I have mastered. And, in fact, I’ve done newsletters here before. So this is the new format. Newsletter on the blog. With a giveaway every month to a lucky commenter. My giveaway this month is this basket of goodies. Yes, I will mail it to the winner (one lucky commenter on this blog post) U.S. only. Sorry if you’re overseas.

The basket includes a copy of my latest release WHITE ROSES IN WINTER. If you don’t win the basket the digital version is $4.99 on various bookseller sites. Here’s the blurb:

The princess. The pauper. And a shotgun…

The only thing Jason is focused on is getting through his last year of college. But the instant attraction between him and Kerrie leads to one unforgettable night together.

When Kerrie’s wealthy, overly-protective father learns she is pregnant, he arranges a temporary marriage to teach her a lesson about choices and consequences. Jason reluctantly agrees to keep his participation in the plan a secret, because it’s the only way he can safeguard his future and his family.

Kerrie is blinded by her romantic fantasy and doesn’t suspect she’s been set up. Meanwhile, Jason guards his heart and vows that when Kerrie leaves with their baby, he won’t beg her to stay.

Just when it seems a future together is possible, lies, betrayal and deceit threaten to separate Kerrie and Jason forever. Faced with losing each other and their baby, will their fragile bond be strong enough?

Also in the basket, some delightful Joy tea and a Starbucks mug.

Here’s what others have said about White Roses in Winter:

Smart, witty, suspenseful. This romance has it all–a hunky love interest, an intelligent protagonist, a manipulative father, and a jealous BFF who is the antithesis of a best friend. I couldn’t put it down as I flipped from page to page until I finished. I’ve read several of Barbara Meyers’s works and this, by far, is my favorite. Beautifully written. –Amazon reviewer 11/7/17

Loved this book. It reminded me of Colleen Hoover novels, beautifully written complex story with well-thought out and realistic characters, all of them (villains included) with depth and convincing motivation. Jason was the ideal strong silent type, Kerrie was sweet but determined, and their love story grew naturally even in the shot-gun marriage situation they were in. The writing sucked me in and the plot kept me intrigued up until the very end, highly recommend! (Goodreads reviewer) 11/19/17

I eagerly read White Roses in Winter, totally engrossed from start to finish. Do you want to know how rare that is for me? I am frequently annoyed with books from the library, although I try to choose them carefully. I slog through the first few chapters and can’t get interested in most of the stories. Sometimes I persevere and read books I hardly care about, and sometimes they are so tedious, I set them aside and try another one… “White Roses in Winter” is really well-written. (email fan letter)
