What book in the women’s fiction genre should I absolutely read? (Me!)
@charlotte.french.writer poses this question on Instagram: What book in the women’s fiction genre should I absolutely read? “I’m always on the lookout for new authors and new writing voices 🙂 some of my favourites are Liane Moriarty, Ann Patchett, Kate Atkinson, Elizabeth Strout, and Marian Keyes but whom could you suggest.
I replied, “Me :).”
Why not? She obviously doesn’t know I exist or that I write romance and women’s fiction. Why can’t I be on her favorite authors list, too?
There is absolutely no reason, except Charlotte French is not the only person unaware of my existence or that of my books. It’s a common problem amongst authors. It’s called discoverability, and it’s an uphill battle to get noticed, read, reviewed, sales, etc.
I imagine this is true of most artists. Think of the music world filled with those trying to “make it.” It’s much the same story.
As an avid reader, I am confident my writing stands up to any bestseller in the same genre. The difference is, they’ve been noticed much more than I have. Maybe they’ve been writing longer, in which case they probably have more books available. That’s always helpful in reaching a wider audience.
But if you don’t care whether what you’re reading is a bestselling book and all you want is a good story to entertain you, check out my books. The ebooks are all priced at under $5. Because of the pandemic/quarantine/unemployment rate, every ebook I’m releasing this year will start at 99¢. If that isn’t a deal, I don’t know what is.
And now I’m off to check out Charlotte French, Writer HERE. Maybe you should too.
